Edgecore released new firmware updates for its Open, Production Ready, Commercially Deployable distribution of SONiC on Edgecore platforms. Edgecore SONiC 202012.1 supports new hardware platform and new feature EVPN Multihoming. This version also provides the bug fixes for the previous release. |

- Single-homing:
customer edge (CE) device connects to one provider edge (PE) device
- Multi-homing: customer edge (CE) device connects to more than one provider edge (PE) device. Multihoming ensures redundant connectivity. The redundant PE device ensures that there is no traffic disruption when there is a network failure. It is a standards-based replacement for MLAG in data centers deploying Clos topologies
