The SupremeRAID™ allows you to easily compose local NVMe devices into a RAID array and share that array as a NVMe over TCP (NVMe/TCP) target server. By using a SmartNIC to accelerate data transfer, you can achieve low latencies and high performance for your remote NVMe/TCP clients.
Advantages:
- On the NVMe/TCP Target side, in this case the NVMe Storage Server, the SupremeRAID™ card can compose the local NVMe SSDs into a RAID volume, and share the RAID volume via the SmartNIC’s target offload function.
- Multiple virtual volumes of various size and various RAID protection can be created and individually exported.
- On the NVMe/TCP Initiator side, in this case the Compute Server, the SmartNIC can directly attach the composed RAID volume and provide it to the Compute Server, to be used just like a direct-attached NVMe device.
- No CPU is involved in the data path.

The SupremeRAID™ allows you to easily manage a remote target server or storage pool that uses NVMe over TCP (NVMe/TCP) technology. With the SupremeRAID™, you can create a virtual volume with RAID capabilities without the need for reconfiguration or re-cabling on the host server. This allows you to take advantage of the benefits of NVMe/TCP, including increased capacity and improved data protection.

- On the NVMe/TCP Target side (‘NVMe JBOF’), the SmartNIC directly attach the raw NVMe drives, over the Network fabric, to the Compute Server.
- On the NVMe/TCP Initiator side (‘Compute Server’), the “localised” NVMe drives are utilised by the SupremeRAID™ to create virtual RAID protected volumes and presented to the host Operating System, to be used just like a local RAID volume.
